The Local Action Group “Association GAL Ternano” works in “Ternano Narnese Amerino” area in Region Umbria (Italy) since 2000 with the aim of supporting and promoting the social-economic development and territorial cohesion of the area, playing a coordinating role in technical and administrative management of plans and projects. The LAG promotes investment plans and local development plans to exploit the resources of the territory, to support actions that qualify the local supply, integrating economic sectors leading to the area and enhancing the local cultural identity.

The LAG is composed by a local partnership of public and private bodies that represent the economic and social actors of the territory.
LAG Ternano currently includes 34 members: all 20 Municipalities of the area, the Province of Terni, the Chamber of Commerce of Terni, the two Mountain Communities “Orvietano Narnese Amerino Tuderte” and “Valnerina”, and various private entities.

The LAG coincides works in following twenty municipalities in the Province of Terni (Umbria Region): Alviano, Amelia, Arrone, Attigliano, Baschi, Calvi dell’Umbria, Ferentillo, Giove, Guardea, Lugnano in Teverina, Montecastrilli, Montecchio, Montefranco, Narni, Otricoli, Penna in Teverina, Polino, Sangemini, Stroncone, Terni.

The entire area (1,162 sq km) accounts for 13.74% of the Regional area(8,456 sq km).
Currently the LAG manages in the area Ternano Narnese Amerino the “Axis n.4”(Leader approach) of the Rural Development Program through the Local Development Plan approved by the Regional Board with D.D. n. 5593 in 10/06/2009.
